Perinatal & Parenthood Support

Becoming a mother can be one of the most meaningful experiences of your life —and also one of the most overwhelming. Alongside the love and hope, many women experience fear, uncertainty, and a deep sense of emotional change. My perinatal work offers a compassionate space to explore these feelings and find your footing again.

Mother Kissing Baby

The Emotional Realities of Modern Motherhood

There is a powerful societal narrative that motherhood should feel joyful, natural, and uncomplicated. But the truth is that becoming a mother is a profound psychological transition. It can feel messy, confusing, lonely, or frightening and none of this means anything is “wrong” with you.

I support women navigating for example:

  • Pregnancy anxiety

  • Birth trauma

  • Postnatal depression

  • Intrusive thoughts or heightened worry

  • Identity changes and loss of self

  • Relationship strain after having a baby

  • Or simply a feeling that something isn’t right, even if it’s hard to describe

Making Space for All Your Emotions

From an ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) perspective, psychological wellbeing isn’t about erasing difficult feelings—it’s about making room for them. Anxiety, sadness, guilt, or anger don’t mean you’re failing as a mother. They are part of the full emotional richness of being human.

Together we work on:

  • Understanding and validating your emotional experience

  • Reducing the power of overwhelming thoughts

  • Building compassion for yourself

  • Reconnecting with your values as a mother and as an individual

  • Finding steadier ground while still making space for joy, meaning, and ease

You Don’t Have to Carry This Alone

Motherhood is big. Your emotions are valid. And support is here. If you feel ready, or even just curious, about what therapy might offer you, I’d love to talk. You can get in touch to book a session or arrange a free introductory call.
